Silence, time, and the slate of DOQ Priorat.
For those familiar with fine wine, the rarest experiences are found in what’s poured into the glass. Just inland from the Mediterranean coast, Priorat reveals a landscape defined by steep terraces and llicorella slate, sustained by vines with deep roots and quiet persistence.
At Mas Doix, tastings focus on wines that reflect this place — from core estate expressions to parcels of exceptional distinction. The range may include everyday estate wines as well as bottlings from classified parcels and select older vintages.
From the tasting room and cellar, guests can quietly take in the view of Priorat’s terrain — a reminder of the steep terraces and slate soils that shape the vineyards. This view, framing the landscape without intrusion, sets the tone for what follows.
Guests are guided through the production areas, observing the meticulous process by which Mas Doix’s wines are crafted. Depending on the chosen experience, the tasting may include:
Each tasting unfolds in a quiet, focused setting. Optional regional pairings are presented with a restrained touch, intended to accentuate the wines without dominating them.
The estate is approximately two hours by car from Barcelona, within easy reach of the Costa Daurada. Travel logistics are arranged entirely at the guest’s discretion.
Visits are quiet, intimate, and unhurried. The emphasis is on the wines — their character, concentration, and singularity — rather than the mechanics of the visit itself.
Because opportunities to taste Cru-level expressions and older vintages are inherently limited by production and availability, advance reservation is essential.
Those wishing to request a tasting — whether of the core range, Vinya Classificada (Premier Cru) and Gran Vinya Classificada (Grand Cru), or selected older vintages — are invited to contact the estate directly.
