Vintage 2022
The climate year of 2022 will be remembered as very warm and dry, with temperatures above the average of recent years from May and throughout the summer. The lack of rainfall is also notable. Although the grateful storms in July helped stop the heat stroke, the lack of water became evident. Despite these conditions, the vines showed a firm resistance to water stress, and marked drought only in the basal leaves of the most suffered vineyards, but kept the fruit in perfect condition. With maturity but also with acidity! A year to verify how resilient the Priorat vineyard is!

Vintage 2021
A heavy snowfall in January left good water reserves. The spring was dry and cool, with good vegetative growth. The summer followed the trend of low temperatures with more rain than normal. Overall, a cooler and wetter summer. Grapes ripened slowly and the harvest began a week later than usual. A vintage with abundant grapes, good acidity, contained alcohol content and perfect ripening. Long live 2021! As a result of high temperatures, the plants started their vegetative growth between 2 and 3 weeks earlier than usual.

Very fine, clean blend of raspberry and plum, light notes of potpourri, white pepper, dried orange peel, minor tobacco, and a bit of sweet licorice. Very fresh and juicy on the palate, fine fruit with even finer tannins, lifted acidity that carries the wine along effortlessly.

Harvested by hand. First selection before gently destemming of 100% grapes. Second selection berry by berry on the sorting table. All the grapes ferment in an open 400-liter French oak barrel. After three weeks of maceration, we press and only keep the free-run juice. Once the malolactic fermentation is complete, we transfer the wine to a third-year barrel. The wine remains in the barrel for 10 months.Bottling
August 2022. Bottled unfined and unfilteredTasting note
Light red berry fruits with a wild forest quality to them, very light forest floor note developing, white pepper, dried citric peel, and a good deal of red licorice spice. Quite lifted and fresh on the palate, clean, linear acidity to it giving great length to the wine overall.

Vintage 2020
An early vintage. As a result of high temperatures, the plants started their vegetative growth between 2 and 3 weeks earlier than usual. This advance of the cycle, together with the intense spring rains and the high temperatures, generated the “perfect storm” for the development of mildew fungus. A dry summer sped up the ripening process, so the harvest started a week earlier than usual. High quality healthy grapes but lower yields.

Very light yellow apple with a hint of white pear and dried apricot, green tea leave, and a good deal of toasted peppercorn, on top of light barrel spice.
